Please be advised that the Intellectual Property Office of Taiwan and our office will be closed for the New Year’s Day, Chinese New Year Festivities and 228 Peace Memorial Day:

1. January 2, 2017 for the New Year’s Day

Any international priority date or specified deadline for a response to an Office Action or renewal will be extended automatically to the next working day, January 3, 2017.

2. January 27 to February 1, 2017 for the Chinese New Year Festivities

Any deadline that falls during the period and the subsequent weekend will be automatically extended to the next working day, February 2, 2017.

3. Saturday, February 18, 2017 has been designated by the Government as a working day

Any deadline on February 18, 2017 will NOT be extendable unless otherwise provided by law.

4. February 27 & 28, 2017 for the 228 Peace Memorial Day

Any deadline that falls during the period will be automatically extended to the next working day, March 1, 2017.

No personnel will be in the office on the holidays. Under the local provisions, the deadline for a patent or trademark prosecution matter, e.g., an international priority claim, a response to an Office Action or a petition for renewal that falls on the holidays will be automatically extended to the next working day. We will handle such matters the next working day on an urgent basis. If you should have any project requiring special attention around then, please try to accelerate its dispatch to us in advance.
