About Tai E

About Tai E

A Serious and Vibrant IP Law Firm

Tai E was founded by lawyer Lin, I-Chu and trademark agent Lin, Chin-Chang. In 1976, Mr. Lin, Chin-Chang restructured Mr. Lin, I-Chu’s general law firm to Tai E International Patent & Law Office. At the same time, he established Tai E International Patent & Trademark Office. Since then, Tai E has been dedicated to intellectual property protection.

By 1980, Tai E had flourished and its staff numbered over 200 professionals deployed in four offices to serve thousands of clients from every corner of the world. Tai E became one of the pioneering law firms that ushered Taiwan into the new world of intellectual property law. From then on, the Taiwan government frequently consulted Tai E in our fields of specialty. Tai E also interacts closely with a great number of overseas associates so that we can hone our international edge. Developing a sound international network of mutually beneficial working relationships has always been a top priority for Tai E.

Patents

Our Patent Department is staffed by more than sixty professionals and engineering specialists, roughly divided into four groups: Electronics, Mechanical, Chemistry, and Biotechnology. While most staff members hold advanced degrees, the core of the Patent Department is qualified patent agents with experience as practicing engineers or former patent examiners at the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO).

Trademarks

To guarantee maximum effectiveness, the division also cooperates and coordinates with professionals and specialists from inside and outside Tai E to provide trademark-related services such as trademark searches, prosecution for registration, appeals, oppositions and invalidation, revocation procedures, and relevant legal services involving investigation, infringement assessment, coordination of police raids and full-scale litigation.

Copyright

Our Trademark Division also provides copyright-related services such as consultation on copyright protection, review of copyright work, prosecution for registration, maintenance, management, recordal of copyright change, assignment and license, and dispute resolution.

Corporate / Commercial Law

Intellectual property cases constitute the bulk of the caseload of the Dispute Resolution Group. The group’s goal is to provide clients with a legal shield when necessary to protect their rights.
