歐洲專利局和哥倫比亞工商總署 (Superintendent of Industry and Commerce, SIC) 自2016年10月1日開始試行PPH，一般申請案或PCT國際申請案之檢索或審查結果皆可據以請求PPH。自2022年10月1日起，PPH之試行無限期延長，但若PPH請求件數超出作業負荷，也可能中止試行。
